NE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2006

Sheffield's Dave Titterton enjoyed a stunning UKBFF debut when he won the heavyweight class at the North-East Championships on September 10.
Titterton, 30, won a highly competitive class ahead of local favourite Pat Warner to book his place at next month's British Championships.
However well he fares in Nottingham, Titterton certainly served notice that he will be a major factor on the British heavyweight bodybuilding scene over the next few years. Impressively shaped and balanced for a guy of 6’-2”, he carried enough well-conditioned muscle to relegate Warner into runners-up spot although both men received invitations to the British finals.
Women's heavyweight winner Jeannie Ellam was equally impressive, taking her class with a sensational mixture of size, shape and condition. A five per cent improvement in her legs and she'll be practically unstoppable.
The show, which FLEX organised at Pudsey Civic Hall in West Yorkshire, was a sell-out success with around 500 fans cheering on almost 50 competitors and a host of guest stars.
IFBB pro Eddie Abbew headed the list of guest posers. Just two weeks out from his next pro show, he was as sharp as he was immense. Reigning British fitness champ Liz Kinsella performed a phenomenal Formula One themed routine and top amateurs James Scott and Ian Buckley started proceedings at the night show with some dramatic robotics.
Other highlights included a ripped Paul Green defeating poser extraordinaire Robbie Anchant in the under-90kg light-heavyweight class and Paul Booth winning a high class under-80kg middleweight class. Jason Barnett took a tight under-70kg class.
The women's fitness category saw a new star born in the shape of 46-year-old Irina Cotton, a former member of the Russian gymnastics team who was making her UKBFF debut. In the bodyfitness class, Andrea Toth narrowly defeated the symmetrical Sara Saunby while Magda Lipinska's highly aesthetic lines took the title in the lightweight bodybuilding class.
With many of these athletes expected to be in the mix for honours at Nottingham, this year's British finals looks unmissable!
